: What software is included with the purchase of a scanner?
Answer : Each scanner comes with its own unique software bundle, and a list of the included software bundles are usually located at the bottom of the detailed scanner description on our scanners page.
Most scanners come with a basic image scanning application that lets you scan to image files and manually name them. Upgrade to our batch scanning software to use zone OCR, barcodes and database look-ups to automatically organize scanned files.
Many scanners come with OCR software that is usually a "light" version of one of these OCR applications. These versions usually have limitations on the number of pages that can be processed at once, unattended processing, or certain export formats. Upgrade to the full version to get these features.
Scanners that come with Virtual ReScan may come with either Basic or Professional VRS. Professional VRS has advanced features like blank page deletion, border removal, and barcode detection. Desktop scanners usually come with Basic while production scanners often come with Professional.
Many scanners come with Adobe Acrobat Standard bundled. This will always be the Standard version, not Professional.
Other trialware scanning applications may also be included.
