1. Scan your document - Simply scan your paper text or open a PDF file or an image document. ReadIRIS Corporate 12 opens the most common used images and PDF files.

2. Covert it to editable text - Once you opened your file into ReadIRIS, just click on “recognize and save”. Within seconds, your document is converted into digital files you can edit, share and save! It’s fast and accurate.

• Page Deskewing - The command "Deskew Page" straightens pages which were scanned at an angle for optimized OCR recognition accuracy.
•  Unique handprinted text recognition - Equipped with the I.R.I.S. ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) engine, ReadIRIS Corporate reads formatted handprinted capital letters, figures or symbols. Scan documents containing formatted manual notes and they will be promptly recognized.
• Intelligent Page Analysis - ReadIRIS Corporate automatically identifies the texts, tables and graphics on the scanned document and perfectly reproduces them in the output file. It's even possible to choose your preferred paper format (A4, Letter, etc.).
•  Text formatting - When processing a document you can select how you want the recognition result to show in your new document.  "Create Body Text": you get a continuous, running text. All formatting, if any, is done afterwards by the user.  "Retain Word and Paragraph": the font type (serif - sans serif, proportional - fixed, normal - condensed), size and typestyle (bold - italic - underlined - superscript - subscript) are maintained across the recognition, tabs and the alignment of each block are recreated and tables are recaptured correctly.  "Recreate Source Document" recreates a facsimile copy of the original document with text blocks, tables, graphics, bulleted and number lists recreated in the same place and the word and paragraph formatting maintained across the recognition. You get a true copy of your source document, be it a compact and editable text file, no longer a scanned image of your document.
• Table recognition - ReadIRIS outputs tabular data to spreadsheets and word processors: tables get reconstructed cell by cell in worksheets and inserted as table objects in word processor files. 
• Extensive PDF support and creation - Convert PDF to text: you can open image-based PDF documents, execute the recognition and save the OCR result to an editable text document (in any supported text format). 
• Convert image PDF to text PDF - You can execute the recognition on image-based PDF files and save the OCR results… as text-based PDF documents! (Text-based PDF files are searchable and editable, "image-only" PDF files are not.).
• "Unlock" PDF content - You can convert "read-only" PDF documents, where the text is normally inaccessible to documents where the text can be accessed freely!

• Supported document types - ReadIRIS opens black-and-white, grayscale and color images. Adobe Acrobat PDF documents and DCX fax (multipage version of the Paintbrush format), DjVu (*.djv), JPEG, JPEG 2000 (*.j2c, *.jp2), Paintbrush (*.pcx, compressed), PNG, TIFF and Windows bitmap (*.bmp) images are supported.  ReadIRIS Pro reads most popular image formats. From now, you can also open and recognize the highly compressed JPEG 2000 and DjVu files.  Change the page sequence with a simple drag-and-drop. Right-click on the documents you need to recognize to select them and quickly generate one output file per page.
• Output formats - According to your editing needs, choose the appropriate output format amongst the tremendous list of applications and files. Send the recognized document directly to your favorite application or save it as an external file.  ReadIRIS Corporate reproduces not only the graphics in color but also colored text and colored backgrounds. Effortlessly get a retyped and reformatted document 100% similar to the original! 
• Select an output mode - save the results to an external file (with a document format supported by your text application), place the results in the Windows clipboard or send the recognized document to a target application.  "Open after Saving" opens the recognized document once it's saved. (The Windows file types determine which application will be started up.).  "Send by E-mail" creates a new mail message and inserts the recognized document as mail attachment!  "Create One File per Page" sees to it that each page of a multipage document is saved in a separate file. If the user gives the file name text.doc, the files will be called text-1.doc, text-2.doc etc.  "Create One File per Document" saves separated documents, not complete batches (ReadIRIS Corporate).
• User interface - Let you guide by the renewed ReadIRIS Pro interface and get your documents retyped in your favorite application in just a few clicks. A new status window gives you all the information you need about your scanned documents (source, resolution, times, image processing, etc).  Easily copy/paste text and graphic zones from ReadIRIS to any application, Easily print an overview of your scanned documents. Send the recognized document in a new e-mail and share it, Right-click any image or PDF in your Explorer to automatically open it in ReadIRIS Corporate.
• Useful Barcode Recognition -  The OCR wizard offers a semi-automatic way of recognizing documents. The wizard guides you through the OCR process comfortably: answer a few simple questions and you'll obtain quick and easy results.  Barcodes are printed on your documents? Draw a frame around them with the new "barcode" button and the information they contain (text or figures) will be retyped in the output file.  All widespread bar code fonts are supported: Codabar, Code 118, Code 39, Code 39 extended, Code 39 HIBC, Code 93, Discrete 2 of 5, EAN-13, EAN-2, EAN-5, EAN-8, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI pharmaceutical, MSI-Plessey, Kodak patch code, PDF-417, PostNet, PostNet 32, PostNet 52, PostNet 62, UCC-118, UPC-A and UPC-E.
