Scanner cables and power adapters
Document scanners connect to a computer by USB, or to the network by Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and run from an external power adapter or a power cord. When a cable or adapter is lost or fails, the replacement has to match the scanner, not just fit the plug.
Types of scanner cable
- USB cables connect almost every current desktop scanner. Most use a USB Type-B or Micro-B port on the scanner end; newer models may use USB-C. For USB 3.0 and later scanners, a USB 3.0 cable gives full speed.
- AC adapters and power cords. Desktop scanners usually have an external adapter; high-volume models take a standard power cord. Match the voltage and current on the old adapter's label.
- SCSI cables connected older production scanners. If you still run a SCSI scanner, a current USB model will usually be faster and easier to support than the cable and interface card it needs.
- Internal cables connect the scanner's sensors, motors and boards. They are repair parts, specific to the model.
Cables we stock
We carry power adapters for most Avision scanners, USB, power and internal cables for Fujitsu and ScanSnap and Kodak scanners, and cables for selected Canon and Ricoh models. Search by your scanner's model, or send us the model and a photo of the connector and we'll find the part.
