: When scanning and storing documents using 2D barcodes, does both the scanning software AND the document management software have to be able to read the barcode? Or will the .pdf file created when document is scanned be able to be stored in a document management system allowing for future search and retrieval?
Answer : The scanning software reads the barcode and passes the barcode value to the document management software for retrieval.
