ScanSoft OmniPage, PaperPort and PDF Converter today

ScanSoft was the company behind OmniPage, PaperPort and PDF Converter. It took the Nuance name in 2005; Nuance's document imaging line later went to Kofax, and Kofax is now Tungsten Automation. The products themselves are still current, under the Tungsten Kofax name, and we sell them through our SimpleOCR store.

OmniPage: OCR

OmniPage turns scans, PDFs and photos of documents into editable Word, Excel and searchable PDF files.

• OmniPage Standard for everyday conversion on one PC.
• OmniPage Ultimate adds batch processing, watched folders and more output options.
• OmniPage Server converts documents unattended for a whole organization.

PaperPort: organize scans

PaperPort files scans and PDFs into folders on the desktop, with thumbnails to preview and stack pages. PaperPort Standard covers one user; PaperPort Professional adds features for business and networked use.

Power PDF: the successor to PDF Converter

PDF Converter became Power PDF, which creates, edits and converts PDF files: Power PDF Standard, Power PDF Advanced, and Power PDF for Mac.

If you scan a lot and every document has to be named and filed, SimpleIndex does that automatically as you scan, reading barcodes and OCR text to index each file.
